When you think of an inspirational landscape, what comes to mind? Everyone has different preferences, but a lot of people will immediately think of mountaintops. As human beings, we are naturally drawn to the heights. Mountains are breathtakingly beautiful and remind us how small we are. At the same time, when we look up at mountaintops, a part of us feels like we are standing there, surveying the world from high above, which can make us feel mighty.
And for mountaineers who take on that challenge, summiting a mountain can be a life-changing experience. Even if you don’t have the chance to scale a mountain in the wilderness though, you can still look up at the peaks and admire them and find inspiration.
Perhaps looking through photos of some beautiful peaks, that I found in National Geographic site and I wanted to share it with you, will help you find the courage to climb the mountains in your everyday life and admire the view from on high.
So, here are some of the most beautiful mountain views that some great photographers capture from around the World:
«Sea of cloud that looks like a wave!»
«Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway: The only place on earth where you can view the Aurora Borealis during the daytime. During the winter season, there is theoretically no daylight. This photo was taken at 1pm. With a long exposure, this shot is able to capture both the faint aurora lights and the light refracted from below the horizon!»
«Hiking in one of the most beautiful landscape of the world near the edge of Bromo Caldera, Java, Indonesia!»
«Mt. Sharidake is called Onne Nupuri in Ainu language. This is a helicopter shot of Mt.Sharidake. You will see Mt. Unabetsudake and the Shiretoko mountain range in the distance. It was an amazing time for me and it was the most impressive scenery I’ve seen in my life!»
«For long time I’ve been dreaming of visiting and taking pictures of this amazing place: Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Last summer I had the opportunity to do it! It was better than in my dreams! Life is awesome! These mountains are awesome and colossal, massive, huge, and I feel very small!»
«Stay close to anything that makes you glad you’re alive. This was taken in 2017 during a 3 month trip in Patagonia with my girlfriend. We have been traveling the world for the past 5 years and there is nothing better than share this moment with someone you love!»
«Hiking in South Tyrol is a one of a kind experience. It was the first time I was walking so close to the edge of a mountain, almost surrounded by clouds. Nature’s power in these situations reminds us that we’re only guests on this planet!»
«I spent the last five years traveling around the world, but after the first time visiting this place, I kept going back. What I love about going back to a place I know is to see how the landscape and light direction are changing according to the season!»
«Beautiful sunrise over turquoise waters of the Moraine Lake with red snow-covered peaks above it in Canadian Rockies, Banff National Park, Canada. I travel a lot around the world and couldn’t think of seeing something that would strike my imagination. Moraine Lake is really an incredible picture. I couldn’t even photograph the first half hour, I just sat there and enjoying this beauty. I want to come here again and I’m sure I’ll never get bored. It truly is a sight to behold with your own eyes!»
«Aerial shot of sunset over Reine, Lofoten Islands, Norway!»
