Autumn is my favorite season of year and it’s already here! October is the heart of Fall and, just before Halloween, this is the right moment to prepare your home for the season and celebrate it! There’s no need to spent a lot of money or change the whole decoration of your house. All you need is creativity and imagination!
Hippies and people who love Bohemian Decoration always look for a chance to make changes and what’s better than a season change? So, try to bring Autumn into your home and into your soul! Some natural things and some small details could change your spirituality and make you feel more renewed and therefore happier.
So, here are some Bohemian ideas for an Autumnal Decoration:
1. Dried Flowers and Autumn Leaves
There is nothing simpler but also poetic than a bouquet of dead Nature. It symbolizes death and regeneration. The soft colors of dried flowers and vivid colors of autumn leaves give a warm touch to the space. Avoid the common decoration of putting some autumn leaves in a bowl and dare to hang them on the wall or ceiling with ropes and wooden clothespins.
2. Rugs, Pillows and Sofa Throws
There is no cozy house without any of these three objects and there is no better season to “dress-up” your home for being warm. Be sure to choose designs and colors that will give autumnal touches to the space. Some people think that sofa throws make the space seems messy but, think about it! In a cold evening that you’ll stay home and you’ll want to read a book, drinking a hot chocolate, pillows and sofa throws will hug your cold body and they’ll be your best friends, right?
3. Pumpkins and Fairy Lights
It’s magical and it smells Halloween! What’s better than that? Try to decorate a corner of your living room with a large pumpkin or (with) 3-4 medium, carve small holes to them and put some fairy lights inside them. Some autumn leaves and feathers beneath or between pumpkins would give a better note. You can also make some bohemian style pumpkins by dressing up them with tribal patterned fabric and feathers. Or you can keep the pumpkins untouched for Halloween and hang the fairy lights all around them. When Halloween comes, don’t change anything! Just give a big smile to your pumpkins!
4. Make an Autumnal Wreath
It’s classic and its value is never lost! Particularly when it’s handmade. Just remember: the bigger the most impressive! Use your imagination and add as many gifts as Nature give: leaves and branches, pine nuts and acorns, feathers, herbs and dried flowers, dried berries and mushrooms. You can decorative it by hanging it on the wall, on your door or you can use it as a centerpiece on a table! The point of making a wreath is that it makes you feel creative while, at the same time, it brings you into the spirit of the season you make it! So, don’t succumb to the temptation to buy one! Just try to find a little free time to make it by yourself or with your friends and family.
5. Make an Autumnal Garland
No matter what color your curtains are, some autumnal garlands will make the difference! It’s a simple, super easy and also a crazy inexpensive idea to decorate your home. You can hang autumn leaves, pine cones, feathers, dried fruits (sliced or not), pieces of tribal patterned fabric and light weight branches. Try to combine all of them (or most of them) with warm colors. All you’ll need is a twine and fishing line or some wooden clothespin. I think it would be better and more impressive if you also add some fairy lights. What you say?
